Abstract: Each day, quintillion bytes of heterogeneous and dynamic information are created in blogs, tweets, emails, videos and much more. These are the "Big Data": a phenomenon that has strong repercussions on the business, both in terms of management complexity and for the value that can be generated.
A group of IBM experts will introduce this topic in the seminar on Friday with examples on real cases, and present the IBM platform for Big Data.

Abstract: The seminar introduces the data integration issue. Data integration involves combining data residing in different sources and providing users with a unified view of these data. MOMIS, an open source data integration tool for managing both structured and semistructured data sources, is presented. A practical session will show how you can integrate and manage data across platforms in few steps by using MOMIS.

The next lesson will be on Thursday 21st at 11.30 since two lessons are cancelled:
Thursday 14th NO LESSONS (because of a substitution of another teacher)
Wednesday 20th NO LESSONS (because of the INGEGNERI@MO event)
To recover the skipped lessons, a new lesson has been planned on
Friday 22th from 11 to 13 and from 14 to 16 at lab multimediale room FA-0A.

Si avvisano gli studenti del corso di Sistemi Informativi e Basi di Dati del CdS in Ingegneria Gestionale a Reggio, la lezione di Lunedì 4 Marzo di Sistemi Informativi e Basi di Dati (e la successiva di Elettrotecnica) è spostata in aula 1.6 (1 piano pad. Buccola).
Tale spostamento di aula è dovuto alla cerimonia di consegna del premio di studio Lombardini che si terra' lunedi' mattina in aula 0.1.

Si avvisano gli studenti interessati che sono stati pubblicati i voti e la soluzione della prova scritta di Basi di Dati e Lab e Basi di Dati A del 11/02/2013 e della prova di laboratorio Basi di Dati e Lab del 13/02/2013 su DOLLY (http://dolly.ingmo.unimore.it/2011/course/view.php?id=47) nella sezione Voti e Soluzioni Esami - A.A. 2011-2012.
Gli studenti che hanno superato entrambe le prove (prova scritta e prova di laboratorio) posso registrare il voto e/o sostenere la prova orale facoltativa durante l'orario di ricevimento studenti, tutti i giovedì dalle 16,00 alle 18,00 (controllare le news per eventuali modifiche di orario) presso l'ufficio della Prof.ssa Bergamaschi.
Si avvisa, inoltre, che Ing. Laura Po sarà disponibile per ricevimento studenti/verbalizzazioni, oggi, giovedì 14/02/2013 dalle ore 16 e martedì 19/02/2013 dalle ore 16 (non sarà invece presente giovedì 21/02/2013).

Si comunica agli studenti che per motivi di salute l'ing. Po non sarà disponibile per ricevimento studenti a partire dal 21 gennaio per due settimane. Il docente riprenderà ricevimento studenti il 7 febbraio 2013.

«Ricerca e studi contro la crisi», l'articolo pubblicato sulla Gazzetta di Modena del 5 Dicembre 2012 mette in risalto come nel settore dell'informatica "il numero di studenti non basta nemmeno a soddisfare le richieste del mercato".
